Tired of Urgent Care Billing Delays Eating Your Cash Flow?
I have a couple of urgent care clinics in the southeast that I have been operating on the administrative side of the business for a little more than three years now, and the billing rollercoaster is making me lose my mind. We witness plain injuries and visits to the URIs, and more complicated and specialized orders, such as I/Ds and EKGs, yet the combination of level 1-5 E/M codes and add-ons continues to confuse us. This happened to me recently, where several claims were denied due to missing incident-to documentation or incorrect POS codes once we are open after hours. Making our charge capture sheet bulky fetched a little of it, but the hunting of appeals is consuming cash. Has that person resorted to an urgent care billing company to deal with the specialty peculiarities and payer regulations? Did it really hasten the reimbursements and reduce denials, or was it another vendor headache? Sharing real stories, thanks!
